Parks and Recreation/Twin Falls State Park Under the general supervision of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Capital Grounds Manager, the incumbent in the position performs work at the full performance level by being responsible for the appearance, repair, maintenance, and general care of the golf course at Twin Falls Resort State Park. Will be responsible for planting grass, flowers, trees, shrubs, and maintaining vegetation according to established golf course standards and practices, including trimming trees, shrubs, and mowing grass. Performs necessary applications and preventative measures for insects, vermin, foreign grasses, and vegetation. Assists in general maintenance throughout the golf course, including, but not limited to, irrigation line replacement and repair, erosion control, asphalt patch, fence and bridge construction and repair, painting, and sign and post installation. Have a working knowledge of a variety of groundskeeping equipment, including tractors, mowers, spray rigs, sand rakes, etc., as well as hand tools and power tools. Will be required to repair and rebuild maintenance equipment throughout the year and during the golf courses off-season. Will be required to work in a variety of environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, interact with park visitors courteously and professionally, and maintain efficient working relationships with other staff members. Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team, putting into practice established instructions, policies, and methods. Overnight travel and/or a varying work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, will be required. Employee is subject to all applicable Division of Personnel, West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, and West Virginia State Park policies. Must possess a valid WV drivers license. Performs related duties and responsibilities, and will be required to wear a uniform. Regular attendance is mandatory.
