EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD . This role is responsible for ensuring the assigned 24/7 critical facility are maintained and in good working order.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs office moves and furniture reconfiguration
• Delivers and assembles office furniture and/or workstations
• Perform demolition of walls and/or flooring in preparation for repair and/or remodeling
• Repairs, patches, finishes, and paints premises
• Repairs furniture, receiver racks and other items as necessary
• Performs landscaping, snow removal and general cosmetic grounds maintenance as needed
• Transports trash, waste and recycling bins to the disposal area as needed
• Sets up tables, chairs and audio-visual equipment for meetings

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Five years of related experience, including the use of standard maintenance-related power tools and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three years of Commercial and /or industrial maintenance experience required, with 1 year experience in a critical facility

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• May require intermediate computer expertise, including use of database, word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Essential Job Duties:

• Will be able to work in all-weather environments, extreme heat, extreme cold, snow, rain noise, hazards and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odor, dust, mist or poor ventilation) indoors, and outdoors
• Typical Monday – Friday shift. May require nights, weekends, Holidays.
• Must be able to sit, stand, crawl, and climb ladders for extended periods
• Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
