Class B CDL - $21.55/hr
Class A CDL - $23.22/hr

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
This is a non-supervisory position. Duties include using tools and equipment to maintain, repair, and construct streets, drainage, and alley systems.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Entry-level position must possess the willingness to learn and the ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to read simple maps and drawings, pick up trash, keep storage areas clean, orderly, and in safe working conditions
- Ability to operate all machinery needed to perform assigned duties
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to assigned equipment in the field or as directed
- Basic understanding of and/or experience in pavement maintenance and construction
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees
- Ability to work under adverse weather conditions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent; OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
A Valid Texas Class C motor vehicle driver's license is required upon hire.
Must maintain a satisfactory driving record.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS
Primarily in the outdoor environment, with the ability to operate indoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during the summer and winter months.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Uses hand saw, Skill saw, chain saw, vibrator, bolt cutter, pick, axe, shovels, rakes, air compressor, jackhammer, cutting torch, various weight hammers, using proper safety precautions, may operate heavy equipment under supervision.
