The Maintenance Supervisor will lead maintenance operations at our biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), facility and equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring reliable operation of critical systems, minimizing downtime, and supporting a clean and compliant production environment.

Reports To: Manager Maintenance and Utility

Technical

  • Leverage knowledge of GMP Process, Mechanical and Utility systems to develop team capabilities in diagnosis and troubleshooting of issues.
  • Ensure all machinery, equipment, and building systems are functioning optimally.
  • Provide input for responses to regulatory inspections or internal audits relating to maintenance programs and/or maintenance events.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee outsourced maintenance work.

Administrative

  • Evaluate staff resources and work schedules (vacations, on-call rotation, etc.) to ensure adequate staff coverage and meet required PM requirements.
  • Ensure your team maintains the required training qualifications and are cross trained to support multiple GMP functional areas as needed.
  • Coordinate with CMMS department to ensure proper planning and scheduling of maintenance
  • Evaluate trends and perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to ensure the maintenance program is continuously improved.
  • Collaborate closely with QA, production, engineering, and EHS teams to ensure a state of regulatory readiness at all times.

Subordinates: Mechanical Tech 1, Mechanical Tech 2

Education

  • High School or equivalent and 3-5 years in a maintenance role.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience within a maintenance organization.
  • Former lead mechanic or supervisor preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar role
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical, utilities and facility trades.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms, such as D365 EAM, SAP PM, Maximo or other CMMS platforms
  • Experience with spare parts and spare parts management.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, FDA regulations, and cleanroom operations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with our clients to promote excellence in customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to use RCA or other tools to improve the preventative/predictive maintenance program.

Initially working on a construction site and ultimately in a biotech manufacturing site in Sanford, NC.

Work is 100% on-site. This is not a hybrid or remote role.

  • Requires up to 10% domestic and limited international travel
  • This shift will ultimately be a 2-2-3 Day shift, however during construction and commissioning this position will work a M-F Day shift. Shift will be a 2-2-3 during production runs as needed.
  • This position is a working supervisor position and you will be required to assist your team as needed on the floor.
  • Ability to move and/or lift 50lbs without assistance
  • Exposure to machinery, noise and physical hazards (with proper PPE)

The anticipated salary for this position will be $102,900 to $134,300. The actual salary offered for this role at commencement of employment may vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, education (including applicable licenses and certifications, job-based knowledge, location, and other business and organizational needs.
