Position Summary:
Vinson Hall Retirement Community (VHRC), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community located in beautiful McLean, VA, is seeking an energetic and skilled Maintenance Worker II to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the community's buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents and staff. Minimum 2 years of experience in building and construction fields, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
Plumbing and electrical experience is preferred; applicable licenses required when performing such tasks.
Proficiency in performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
Knowledge of general building systems, tools, and safety standards relevant to a retirement community.
Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform intermediate building repairs, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, specifically tailored to the needs of a senior living community.
Conduct routine maintenance of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general facility upkeep to ensure safe and comfortable living conditions for our residents.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain the grounds and exterior areas of the community, including landscaping, snow removal, and ensuring the outdoor spaces are safe and accessible for residents.
Follow established safety protocols and industry standards to maintain compliance with safety regulations.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of community fixtures, equipment, and systems.
Record and document maintenance activities to ensure accurate tracking and accountability of completed work and service requests.
