General Summary:
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks across multiple buildings within the organization. The goal is to maintain our facilities to communicate dignity and respect to our patients, staff and guests. This role does not have set minimum hours and is a project-based role that is on an as-needed basis. Work will be assigned from an existing work list. The technician will handle a wide range of tasks to ensure the buildings are maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition. The technician will perform minor repairs, serve as a contact for external vendors, and provide routine inspection of facilities to identify additional areas for improvement.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on facilities, systems, and equipment.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs in a timely manner.
- Communicate to site managers, director of operations and CFO of resolutions to maintenance tasks.
- Inspect and troubleshoot building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct minor repairs such as ceiling tile replacement, basic hardware repair (e.g. replacing lights, replacing door handles, toilet repair), painting, light carpentry, and basic plumbing and/or electrical work.
- Coordinate with external vendors when necessary for specialized or technical repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure all tools and supplies are in good working condition.
- Observe safety protocols and identify potential safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Perform general upkeep duties such as landscaping, snow removal, and building cleaning as needed.
- Document maintenance activities and report any major issues to the CFO.

- Working knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, including availability for emergency repairs.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in building maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in general building maintenance and repair.
Working Conditions: The position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
