Job Duties

The Department of General Services, Division of Capitol Square Services, Office of Facilities Management (OFM) is a customer-focused organization whose primary function is to provide a quality environment for the approximately 75 state agencies that occupy the facilities overseen by DGS. OFM provides its customers effective and timely operational, maintenance, and repair services. OFM is responsible for over 40 buildings and operates and maintains about 6.45 million square feet of buildings and grounds at the seat of government to include the Governor's Mansion, the Virginia Capitol and Capitol Square. OFM strives to ensure tenants enjoy a clean, safe, efficient, and comfortable environment in and around the buildings it manages.

The building supervisor will provide leadership and planning of facilities and maintenance of the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (C-CAM) building in Disputanta, Virginia. Additionally, oversees building maintenance, contractors and vendors. Ensures repair, maintenance & preventive maintenance tasks/guidelines are scheduled and met with least disruption to building occupants.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of physical plant maintenance operations.
  • Considerable knowledge of construction and renovation methods.
  • Ability to plan, assign, and lead the work of a varied group of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
  • Knowledge of multiple building-related trades.
  • Must reside within 30-minutes of the facility in Dispuntanta, Virginia.

Additional Considerations

  • Possession of a Journeyman or Masters Card in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing.
  • Experience with multiple building-related trades.
  • Experience maintaining governmental or historical buildings.
  • Experience with automated building management systems.
