Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The purpose of the Facility/Maintenance Supervisor is to schedule, supervise and monitor the work of warehouse maintenance employees to ensure the proper repair and maintenance of Ben E. Keith equipment / facilities.

  • Lead, train and supervise assigned personnel to ensure the efficient upkeep of BEK facilities.
  • Monitor and supervise the work of contracted skilled tradespersons.
  • Ensure the timely repair of defects discovered in the building, warehouse operating equipment, racking, shelving, and offices.
  • Follow preventative maintenance programs for the facility, warehouse operating equipment, and grounds.
  • Coordinate and review the daily activities of facility maintenance personnel.
  • Observe maintenance employees for planned inspections, emergency preparedness, physical protection, disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment.
  • Participate in the preparation of specifications for required materials and equipment.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • At least 5-10 years of experience in distribution warehouse facility maintenance
  • Must have a basic understanding of electrical control switches.
  • A basis understanding of electrical wiring.
  • Basic welding and metal fabrication skills
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be willing to obtain Hazwopper Certification
  • Must have all hand tools to complete assigned work.
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge in the use of a personal computer
  • Must have the ability to lead others without conflict
  • Must pass drug screen and physical exam.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in all temperature zones (including Freezer)
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist; stoop to reach and squat to lift heavy items in a proper manner and operate lift assisting devices.
  • Ability to operate heavy warehouse equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
