Diesel Mechanic / Technician (Great role for someone who wants to get off the road and work from a single location)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy construction equipment. Your expertise in heavy equipment repair, diesel engine, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and fabrication will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our customer's equipment and our rental fleet.

Responsibilities:
- The Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing general mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction equipment
- Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues
- Operate heavy equipment when necessary
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed

Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives.
Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
Performs daily inspections.
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant equipment, along with cross training on plant operations.
Mechanically inclined on a wide variety of hand tools and power tools.
Performs minor fabrication on plant.
Participate in safe Lock out/Tag out procedures.
Participates in other tasks required by supervisor.

Requirements:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
Must be safety conscious, dependable, motivated and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
Valid Driver's license without restrictions
Welding and Cutting experience required.
Ability to work in an outdoor environment & in elevated areas.
3 to 5 years heavy equipment experience
Work well with your hands - using power tools, hand tools, and mobile equipment to complete tasks.
Able to read and understand operators' manuals and instructions.
Able to recognize and address hazards and problems in their work area.
Experience with Caterpillar and Komastsu Trucks

Physical Requirements

Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment.
Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection.
Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Able to lift 75 pounds.
Willing and able to use shovel when required.
Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Able to work from elevated platforms.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Effective coordination and communication skills (written and verbal)
Understand team-based management.
Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
Mechanical knowledge
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
