SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for all aspects of Complex Facility maintenance coordination including leading and directing up to twelve Maintenance Technicians, across multiple shifts. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff. Assist the Maintenance Manager to direct and coordinate maintenance policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Manage and oversee the preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment. Quickly assess problems to minimize downtime of production and facilities. Must possess knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Management policies and procedures along with GMP practices to ensure all maintenance employees understand and follow the company policies and procedures. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain buildings, grounds, vehicles and life-safety equipment, along with the powered industrial lift truck fleet. The position also completes small project work with a team of fabricators. Some environmental management is required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability and experience to lead, direct, evaluate and train a staff of eight maintenance technicians and three fabricators; measure, monitor and reduce machine downtime; diagnose basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and hydraulic problems and direct/assist with repairs; promote a Safety First culture amongst staff; and, develop and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program for equipment and plant. Must be able to direct the work of outside contractors.

Education:

Associate degree or college program certificate; or 5+ years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a food manufacturing environment. Certifications in powered industrial trucks, plumbing, pipefitting or welding is a plus.

Experience:

Five years of experience in a facility or food manufacturing maintenance role is required. Experience in maintenance lead or supervisor with direct reports, is a plus. A combination of five years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment along with maintenance experience will also be considered.

Communication Skills:

Must be able to speak clearly, listen and understand. Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly in writing and understand the same. May be required to complete simple drawings and sketches or publish ideas and concepts using PowerPoint or other software.

Computer Skills:

Must have basic PC experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook at the intermediate level. Ability to use search engines and navigate other company software without extensive training. Experience with SAP is a plus.

Travel:

2-4 trips, per year, for training purposes.

Position-Specific Requirements:

Some weekends, after-hours and overtime work required, including call-in work.
