Job Description / Essential Elements:

Job Summary:

Under direction and supervision of the district superintendent, plans, lays-out, coordinates, supervises and directs all maintenance, transportation, warehouse, custodial and grounds keeping operations of the district. Will be required to have an AM bus route and drive as needed. Will perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks consisting of:

HVAC: Trouble shooting, maintenance and installation at an advanced technical level.

CARPENTRY: Modifying and repairing structures.

PLUMBING: Repairing, replacing old fixtures and installing new fixtures within the scope of this assignment.

ELECTRICAL: Repairs and installations within the scope of this assignment.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Five years of working in a school or comparable facility and experience in custodial, general maintenance, bus inspecting, warehousing.

Knowledge of practices and problems of operating a school transportation system.

Knowledge of facility maintenance and grounds keeping. Knowledge of construction, electrical and H.V.A.C. systems and codes.

Uses and purpose of general maintenance tools and gardening equipment, safe work practices, knowledge of carpentry, electrical, painting and plumbing repairs, welding, and asbestos training.

Procedures, and techniques to the ordering, receiving, distribution and control of goods, materials, supplies and equipment; maintain routine record management processes; prepare surplus list for disposal, basic computer skills in Excel and Microsoft Word.

Job Requirements:

Possession of a California School Bus Drivers Certificate (DL-45) Highly Desirable

Clean DMV Driving Record

DL-51A (Medical Examination Certificate)

DMV-H6 ten year printout (within 30 days)

TO-1 Card

Passage of a pre-employment physical/drug screen.

Must pass State Department of Justice fingerprint screening

Must be available to work supplemental hours
