Handyman / Maintenance Technician Part Time or Full Time (Troy area)

About Us
We are a local property management company that maintains rental properties in the Troy, Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady areas. Our team handles repairs and turnovers in-house, and were looking for a reliable handyman/maintenance technician to join us. Position
This role can start out part-time or full-time, depending on availability. All technicians begin as 1099 contractors during a trial period (with gas reimbursed) and may transition into steady W-2 employment if the fit is right. Work is primarily residential rental units (apartments and multifamily). Typical jobs include daily repairs, turnovers, and scheduled maintenance.

Responsibilities
-General repairs: drywall, painting, doors/locks, flooring
-Minor fixes: small leaks, replacing light fixtures/switches, other quick repairs
-Turnover work: patch/paint, fixture replacement, cleaning prep
-Troubleshooting tenant repair requests
-Coordinating with office staff on assigned work orders
-Using company app to document work with notes and photos
-Maintaining a safe, professional work environment some work will be in occupied units

Requirements
-2+ years experience in maintenance, handyman, or construction
-Comfortable with basic household repairs (leaks, lights, locks, drywall, paint)
-Must have basic hand tools (we provide materials)
-Ability to lift 50+ lbs, use ladders, and operate standard tools
-Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
-Must pass a background check with no theft, fraud, or intentional harm of property/others
-No drug use on site or prior to work
-Good communication and ability to work independently and respectfully in occupied spaces

Compensation & Growth
