The Parking Garage Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of a parking garage facility. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance and janitorial tasks to ensure the overall upkeep and appearance of the parking garage, as well as assisting customers with their parking needs. The Maintenance Worker will work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and functionality within the parking garage

  • Cleaning and Sanitization:

  • Performs general maintenance duties; cleans the interior and exterior of the parking structure; sweeps the stairwell, empties trash cans, picks up litter, replaces light bulbs, blows leaves, cleans windows, and cleans restrooms. Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.

  • Clean and disinfect elevators, railings, payment kiosks, gate arms, and other high-touch surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment.

  • Remove debris and litter from walkways and driveways to prevent hazards.

  • Cleans and maintains buildings, parks, and athletic facilities, including mowing grass, removing litter, cleaning streets, utilities, repairing fences, and other equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing damaged signage, repairing gate arms, and fixing minor equipment malfunctions.

  • Report any significant maintenance issues or needed repairs to the appropriate supervisor or department.

  • Conduct basic maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery within the parking garage.

  • Complete daily maintenance logs on equipment and machinery within the parking garage

  • Customer Assistance:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Provide information about parking rates, payment options, and garage policies.

  • Help customers locate available parking spaces and guide them to their destinations.

  • Security and Safety:

  • Monitor surveillance cameras and report any suspicious activity or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.

  • Ensure that fire lanes, emergency exits, and evacuation routes are always clear and accessible.

  • Respond to emergencies, such as accidents or medical incidents, by following established protocols.

  • kiosks, including troubleshooting payment-related issues.

  • Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance activities, incidents, and customer interactions.

  • Complete daily checklists and reports as required by management.

High School diploma or GED equivalent; six (6) months of related maintenance experience necessary.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Prior experience in janitorial or maintenance roles is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks, such as lifting at least 10lbs and bending.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance work.
  • Familiarity with security procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some holidays are mandatory.

Additional Requirements

Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.Knowledge of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential duties.
