The Commercial HVAC Service Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the commercial service department. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, maximizes technician productivity, drives profitability, and maintains strong client relationships. The Service Manager provides leadership, technical guidance, and operational oversight to ensure projects and service calls are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.

Key Responsibilities
OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Oversee day-to-day operations of the commercial HVAC service department
Schedule, dispatch, and monitor service technicians to optimize efficiency
Ensure all service calls, maintenance agreements, and repair projects are completed on time and within budget
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including revenue, gross margin, billable hours, and callback rates
TEAM MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor service technicians and support staff
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to improve productivity and technical skills
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
- Facilitate ongoing technical training and certifications
CUSTOMER RELATIONS
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients
- Address escalated service issues and ensure timely resolution
- Conduct site visits when necessary to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction
- Support sales efforts by identifying additional service or replacement opportunities
FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
- Review and approve proposals, quotes, and service agreements
- Monitor inventory, parts procurement, and vendor relationships
- Ensure accurate documentation of work orders, invoices, and service reports
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service
- 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV systems, and building automation systems (BAS)
- Proficiency in service management software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license

- EPA Certification required
- NATE Certification preferred
- Forklift certification
- Osha 10 & 30 beneficial
Working Conditions
- Combination of office environment and field visits to commercial job sites
- After-hours support for emergency service issues as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in mechanical rooms or on rooftops as needed

- Base salary with performance-based incentive plan
- Paid bi-weekly for base salary/ monthly for performance-based incentive plan
