Public Works Fleet Management is seeking a detailoriented and motivated Fleet Motor Pool Equipment Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the City's motor pool fleet. This role ensures all vehicles are safe, wellmaintained, compliant with regulations, and available to support departments across the City. The ideal candidate is an organized problemsolver with strong communication skills and experience in fleet operations or vehicle maintenance management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate, schedule, and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance for motor pool vehicles.
Inspect vehicles to ensure they are properly maintained, cleaned, fueled, and ready for use. Assist with vehicle upkeep as needed, including removing debris, vacuuming interiors, and supporting basic maintenance tasks.
Manage vehicle assignments, reservations, and dispatching using fleet management and AVL/GPS software.
Track vehicle usage, location, and condition; complete inspections upon vehicle return.
Ensure compliance with City policies, safety standards, and DOT regulations.
Train City employees on proper motor pool usage and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, usage, and fleet activity; forecast vehicle needs and develop specifications for replacements.
Prepare fleet performance reports, including fuel consumption, incidents, and operational metrics using systems such as AssetWorks.
Communicate with drivers, mechanics, and departmental staff to support efficient fleet operations.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce fleet operating costs.
Maintain and update fleet management software; support and implement process improvement initiatives.
Supervise assigned staff, including scheduling, training, performance reviews, and workload distribution.
Manage key control and valet processes; ensure accurate rental rates and proper billing.
Address and resolve user concerns or complaints related to motor pool operations.
Attend professional meetings, seminars, and training related to fleet and motor pool management.
This position will remain open until filled. The first review of applications will occur after approximately one week. Additional reviews may continue until a qualified pool has been established or a selection has been made.
