You will maintain the electrical backbone of a large-scale facility, covering distribution systems, fire and security alarms, and building infrastructure. The role includes mentoring on-site personnel and may offer opportunities to move between federal facility locations across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba as your career progresses. - Maintain electrical services, fire alarm systems, and security alarm systems across the facility
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems and fixtures
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical infrastructure and related building systems
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Apply safety precautions and practices associated with electrical work in a secure facility environment
- Supervise and instruct on-site personnel in electrical maintenance tasks as part of the facility's training program
- Operate specialized tools, equipment, and testing instruments relevant to the electrical trade
- Maintain compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety codes and regulations
- Perform duties at various facility locations as required
- Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification (Provincial or Inter-provincial)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 23 kg using safe lifting techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Willingness to work within a secure facility environment, including direct interaction with on-site personnel
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and shift work in a 24/7 operation
- Willingness to travel to various facility locations as required
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of work-related continuing education courses or certifications in facility maintenance or workplace safety
- Certification in preventative maintenance programs
- Valid Fall Protection, Confined Space, and/or WHMIS certification
- SMT designation from the Building Owners and Managers Institute
- Experience in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment and building systems
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Experience supervising or mentoring tradespeople
- Experience working in a secure, industrial, or institutional environment
- Large federal facility with secure areas, mechanical rooms, and outdoor work zones
- Electricians support facility operations while mentoring on-site personnel through a structured training program
- All incumbents must be willing to work within a secure environment and comply with facility safety and security protocols
- 24/7 facility operations. Overtime, shift work, and statutory holidays are part of the role
- Base wage of $42.85 to $46.51 per hour, plus Training Differential of 7% to 9%
- $2,140 annual Special Duty Allowance
