DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE

SUMMARY:
AircraftWorks Ltd is an AMO primarily supporting the maintenance needs of Air Partners Corp. with bases in Calgary and Edmonton. Reporting to the VP of Maintenance, the ideal candidate will bring proven senior maintenance leadership experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the technical credibility required to lead a multiaircraft Approved Maintenance Organization.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Act as the Companys primary Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) liaison for all AMOrelated correspondence, approvals, audits, and findings.
- Ensure the AMO operates in full compliance with CARs, approved manuals, existing and emerging regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Develop, approve, and track Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) in response to internal audits, external audits, and SMS findings.
- Ensure timely resolution of recurring defects through rootcause analysis and documented corrective action.
- Provide strategic direction, policy, and oversight for aircraft maintenance, parts, materials, tooling, and support equipment.
- Maintain oversight of daily maintenance execution through team leads, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policy and regulatory standards.
- Ensure proper deferral, rectification, and release of aircraft are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor maintenance workmanship quality and compliance with manufacturer instructions and industry standards; initiate corrective action as required.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain AMO personnel, including succession planning for supervisory and key technical roles.
- Approve shift schedules, PTO, overtime, and manage the vacation bidding process for hangar staff.
- Conduct or oversee performance evaluations for maintenance personnel.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve a maintenance personnel training program, including initial, recurrent, and regulatory training.
- Ensure all maintenance personnel are competent, authorized, and current for the tasks they perform.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements, including WHMIS, First Aid, MSDS/SDS, and safe work practices.
- Champion the Safety Management System (SMS) within the AMO, promoting proactive hazard reporting and continuous improvement.
- Ensure technical publications and controlled manuals are current, accessible, and used correctly by maintenance staff.
- Review AMO invoicing, including labour and parts billing, for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Review AME revenue and nonrevenue billing rates and provide coaching to improve efficiency and cost control.
- Review and implement new technologies or processes that enhance safety, reliability, and company economics.
- Participate in the preparation and management of the maintenance department budget to ensure adequate resources and cost control.
OUR MUST HAVES:
- Valid TCCA M2 licence with minimum of 10 years aviation maintenance experience.
- 5+ years in a supervisory role,
- Excellent troubleshooting skills,
- Valid drivers licence,
- Ability to hold a restricted area pass (RAIC),
- Valid passport, ability to travel worldwide,
- Right to work in Canada,
- Type endorsement on one or more of the aircraft listed on our AMO would be an asset.
