Mechanic-in-Training - 24331

Overview We are seeking a Mechanic-in-Training for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventative and corrective maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment plants, and related facility equipment, on an assigned shift. Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm ** This position has a pay rate of $21.03/hr ** ** This position may have a rotational on-call schedule ** Responsibilities - Preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electro-mechanical machinery and equipment - Replacement of bearings in motors, pumps or other equipment - Tightens and adjusts chains - Removes and installs new or existing equipment or machinery - Operates hoists, lifts and machinery - Chips and paints - Operates emergency power generation equipment - Plumbing and pipefitting tasks as required - Assists in keeping maintenance records - Maintains and operates computer maintenance management system as required - Performs other duties as required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED - A valid Drivers License - Familiarity with hand and power tools
