Job Summary
Under supervision of the Deputy Director, and working closely with the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts' director of operations and operations manager, coordinate maintenance, custodial, grounds and other requests on behalf of the museum with vendors and campus colleagues, coordinate all repair actions and preventive maintenance actions, act as building coordinator for emergency and disaster preparedness, and serve as department access key controller. Coordinate emergency repairs outside of standard hours. Working with Mondavi Center staff, perform other maintenance tasks as assigned for the museum and the Mondavi Center.

Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
No Minimum Education required
Experience overseeing various facilities-related operational activities, including regular periodic rounds to inspect areas for security, coordination of emergency work, and coordination with contractors and inspectors
Knowledge of facility maintenance practices and procedures along with safety and emergency preparedness.
Demonstrated effective listening, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills to resolve inquiries, address concerns or problems and ensure cooperative and productive working relationships.
Knowledge of the use of standard organization computer applications, Word, Excel and other common desktop applications.
Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, lighting, and plumbing
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Training and certification as a boom and/or fork lift operator.
Ability to conduct minor repairs and construction projects including experience using a range of tools
Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC , or other design software
Ability to read, understand, and interpret building codes, architectural drawings, and construction plans and space utilization, allocation guidelines
Ability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships.

The Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art is dedicated to education and serves a primary audience of faculty and students as the lens through which it engages a broader audience. The museum's program is steeped in the richness of resources at UC Davis (a top 5 public university in the US), which is also the repository of an important art historical legacy and its physical location in the Central Valley.
This position's responsibility is based on having working knowledge of facility maintenance practices and procedures along with emergency preparedness and safety practices.
