The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing hands-on daily inspections and maintenance, as well as the repair, removal, reinstallation, or replacement of park rides, buildings, and equipment throughout Story Land. The duties of this position include maintenance of general spaces within the park, such as office buildings, pavilions, or restrooms. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician may also provide maintenance services to amusement rides, water rides, go-karts, and all other attractions found within the park.

We are currently looking for a:

Roles & Responsibilities:

Roles & Responsibilities:

Preform annual bolt tightening and daily inspection on wooden roller coaster (training provided)

Perform daily pump house maintenance and water quality checks on water rides, under direction of CPO.

Perform general facility-wide maintenance and related work on roofing, exterior and interior buildings and structures, restrooms, food building and pump rooms

Lead and assist with daily carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical projects

Perform daily inspection and testing of amusement park rides, water rides, and all other attractions, signing off on its safety & completion

Troubleshoot, test, service, and repair amusement rides including, but not limited to, the removal, reinstallation, and replacement of amusement ride parts

Provide general upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and physical structures found within the park.

Provide general maintenance, plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair broken equipment and attractions with minimal supervision

Develop an understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Circuits to assist with maintaining continuous ride operation

Perform water quality duties within Aquatics areas of the park

Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, scissor lift, aeri al lift, and more after successfully completing classroom and practical training

Operate Park motor vehicles on-and-off site

Receive training in accurate ride operation, and assist ride coverage for bathroom and meal breaks during peak season as needed

Always adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Properly document work performed along with time and materials used per park policies and procedures

Report any maintenance, mechanical or structural issues to Maintenance and Park leadership in a timely and complete manner

Based on evaluation of park leadership, qualifying education, and levels of responsibility shown will receive additional professional projects as directed by Park Leadership

All other duties as assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership

Education and Experience:

High School diploma, GED, or Equivalent work experience will also be considered

Trade school training or other technical certification is a plus

1+ year of previous maintenance or construction work experience desired

A background in a related trade such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting or landscaping is preferred but not required

Previous work experience performing maintenance on roller coasters, amusement rides, or other attractions desired but not required

Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English and/or Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with NH Child Labor Laws

Ability to work flexible schedules , including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close as needed. Generally, 40 to 50 hour week in five consecutive days .

Must possess a valid drivers license and a good driving record

Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner, including landscaping equipment

General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and carpentry preferred

Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of time

Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday

Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more

Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts

Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools

Ability to see differences between colors and brightness

Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away

Ability to climb up to 40 ft vertically in wooden structures, using provided safety equipment, and perform inspection and repairs .

Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases

Subject to bloodborne pathogens Proper PPE is required in these situations.

Subject to working at significant heights greater than 50 feet
