Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic industrial equipment/controls, airport lighting (air and landside), airfield runway/taxiway, and underground cables. Monitors and maintains fire and security systems; keeps service records; prepares requisitions for associated materials; interacts with other departments, airport tenants, and outside contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified candidates to possess:
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of journey-level experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electronic and heavy electrical equipment, industrial electrical and electronic control systems.
Necessary Special Requirement
- Journeyman Electrician licensed in another state or municipality must obtain a Palm Beach County (PBC) or Florida (FL) Electrician's License within 11 months of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in installing/maintaining airport equipment,
- Experience in maintaining computerized card access/fire alarms,
- PBC/FL Master Electrician's License,
- Valid FL Class B CDL with Air Brakes Endorsement, and
- Graduation from a related trade school program/related Associate's/Bachelor's Degree.

SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Must obtain a FL Class B CDL Permit within 90 days of hire and obtain a FL Class B CDL with Air Brakes Endorsement within six (6) months of hire. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
Requires successful completion of DHS Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment prior to appointment and the ability to maintain these clearances as a condition of employment.
