THIS IS A RE-ADVERTISEMENT. PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT RE-APPLY. YOUR APPLICATION IS STILL BEING CONSIDERED. Performs Bridge Crew Equipment Operator duties for Holly Hill Bridge Maintenance Unit. Performs skilled manual labor and operates light to heavy duty tools to include circular saws, drill, band saws, chainsaws, grinders, jack hammers, etc. in a safe and productive manner in a variety of activities associated with the construction, repair, and preservation of roads and bridges on the state highway system. Operates medium equipment that may include, but is not limited to a skid steer or tandem dump truck. Operates small equipment that may include, but is not limited to a concrete mixer, single axle dump truck, forklift, snow plow, spreader, sweeper, tractor, or roller. Operates CDL and non-CDL vehicles in accordance with state fleet policies. This includes inspecting vehicles and equipment and notifying the supervisor of any issues. Coordinates the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up and maintain a work zone according to the SCDOT Work Zone Traffic Control Manual and Field Guide to warn motorists. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations. This may include working extended hours, 12 hour shifts, or times outside of the normal work schedule or location. Performs other related duties as assigned.
