Job Description
Position Overview
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance, addressing tenant service requests, and ensuring that all properties are safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently. This role involves a mix of handyman tasks, light plumbing and carpentry, and daily interaction with tenants and property managers.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building components, including interior and exterior surfaces, doors, windows, casework, and general building systems.
Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain facilities, tools, and related systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.
Communicate clearly with property managers and tenants regarding work progress and scheduling, both verbally and in writing.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including time, materials used, and required documentation for billing.
Manage and maintain inventory of commonly used materials; request or order supplies as needed.
Ensure all tasks are performed safely and meet company standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional appearance and customer-service mindset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible schedule with on-call availability.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, use ladders, and work in confined or utility spaces.
Knowledge of proper use of power tools, hand tools, and other maintenance equipment.
Basic computer and smartphone skills, including use of Outlook email and calendar.
Valid U.S. driver's license required.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday
On-call rotation required
Preferred Experience
2+ years of property maintenance or related experience (preferred)
Required License
Valid Driver's License
