Temporary Maintenance Assistant - Full-Time (90-Day Assignment) Oakwood Gardens Care Center - Fresno, CA Pay Range: $19-$21/hour BOE Oakwood Gardens Care Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking Temporary Maintenance Assistant for a 90-day assignment. This position is ideal for someone experienced in facility maintenance who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and staff. Position Overview The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for helping maintain the facility grounds, equipment, and building systems in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs Maintain facility grounds, parking lots, and outdoor areas through cleaning, trimming, and upkeep Replace light bulbs, clean windows/screens, and complete general maintenance tasks Assist with servicing heating and cooling systems as directed Coordinate maintenance work with nursing staff when working in resident care areas Report equipment malfunctions and unsafe conditions promptly Ensure maintenance supplies are stocked and equipment is properly stored after use Follow all safety precautions and facility procedures when using tools and equipment Assist with emergency situations and evacuation procedures if needed Maintain confidentiality of resident information and comply with HIPAA guidelines Qualifications Minimum 10th grade education required Previous maintenance or facility experience preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs Ability to follow instructions and work independently Strong communication and teamwork skills Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed Work Environment Skilled nursing facility setting Low to moderate noise level Fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with staff and residents We are an equal opportunity employer.
