Maintenance Supervisor (Palo Alto, CA)

LHH is teaming up with an established property management firm in Palo Alto, CA in search of a Maintenance Supervisor to support maintenance operations and capital improvement projects across a portfolio of single-family and multifamily properties.

This is a high-priority, on-site leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance execution while also driving larger-scale capital projects. The organization manages a stable and growing property portfolio and is seeking someone who can step in with minimal direction and confidently lead both people and projects. This role offers exposure to a mix of operational and project-based work, including oversight of property standards, vendor coordination, and long-term asset planning.

The ideal candidate brings strong property maintenance experience within market-rate environments and has a proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and own projects from start to finish. This person is comfortable navigating multiple systems, tracking asset lifecycle details, and building scopes of work for large projects. A hands-on leader who communicates clearly and can supervise without needing direction will be successful in this environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance operations across a portfolio of single-family and multifamily properties

  • Supervise and support a team including maintenance technicians, a coordinator, and security staff

  • Manage and execute capital expenditure projects up to $500K, with annual budgets up to $2M

  • Create scopes of work, coordinate vendors, and oversee project timelines and execution

  • Track and manage asset lifecycle information (e.g., roofs, fixtures, and property systems) across platforms

  • Ensure timely response to service requests, repairs, and property upkeep needs

  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and operational expectations across all properties

  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling and ensure efficient workflow across the team

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in property maintenance within single-family and market-rate multifamily environments (Required)

  • Demonstrated experience supervising or leading a maintenance team (Required)

  • Experience managing capital projects and budgets (Required)

  • Strong technical proficiency and ability to navigate multiple property management or asset tracking platforms (Required)

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (Required)

  • Background as a general contractor or willingness to obtain a general contractor license (support provided) (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and general building systems (Preferred)

  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills

Job Type: Direct Hire

Start Date: ASAP (target start by mid-June)

Location: Fully on-site in Palo Alto, CA

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Pay Rate: $38-40/hour
