What you will do:
Receive service calls from Service Team, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions
Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems
Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on marine and offshore fire detection systems, with emphasis on addressable fire alarm platforms (Tyco / Zettler / Minerva series, including T2000 panels)
Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals and OEM documentation
Service, troubleshoot and install Fire & Life Safety systems, including Tyco Marine and Zettler systems
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
Support Sales and Business leader on commercial proposal elaboration, defining service and project scopes and solutions
Support commissioning, testing, and loop/device diagnostics
Provide excellent customer service and communication
Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response activities
Train and mentor team members when applicable
How you will do it:
Troubleshoot and repair installed systems including panel diagnostics, loop configuration, and device addressing
Utilize OEM documentation and technical resources
Program and configure addressable fire alarm systems and network panels
Work within marine safety standards and environments
Provide documentation and service reports in a timely manner
Support system upgrades and retrofits
What we look for:
Required:
5+ years of experience in low voltage and Fire/Life Safety systems
Experience with addressable fire alarm systems (Tyco, Zettler, Minerva preferred)
Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
Strong troubleshooting skills
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel frequently, including international travel
Ability to work in marine and offshore environments (vessels, shipyards, offshore platforms)
Availability for emergency call-outs and after-hours service
Comfortable working in physically demanding and confined environments
This position is non-union
Preferred:
NICET Level II or higher
Marine or offshore system experience
Experience with loop-based architecture and networked fire panels
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29-$40 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
