About the role .
McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Planner at our Carberry, Manitoba Food Processing Plant. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for organizing, planning, scheduling, monitoring, and auditing Maintenance activities to ensure conformance to established requirements.
What youll be doing.
- Deliver a complete work package that identifies the WHAT and HOW of the following: Work scope including estimated labor and material costs; time requirements, trades/skills needed, parts needed, special tool requirements, safety requirements, job procedures showing step by step tasks, drawings, and supporting documentation
- Communicate work status to Plant Management and Operations via backlog KPIs and trending of size
- Keep preventative maintenance up to date based on learnings and findings
- Review feedback from trades people on jobs and take appropriate action
- Always maintain enough planned jobs in the backlog for at least two crew weeks per priorities
- Maintains correct and up to date backlog
- Maintains BOMs and standard job plans for all critical equipment
- Identify scope (task breakdown), tools and equipment required, drawings and documentation, identify and initiate permit process, downtime required, and contracted service requirements/availability
- Develop standards and procedures (as required), standard tasks, standard jobs and routes and review/revise standard tasks, jobs and routes
- Determine shutdown lockout requirements based on identified work
- Initiate sourcing/creating of missing drawings and documentation, documentation and drawing update, and equipment specification update
- Estimate required labor (skill set, number and task duration), total duration of work, and materials/parts
- Establish availability of stock and non-stock parts and identify external supply parts
- Organize contracted service requirements and verify material/parts availability and correct material/parts received
- Generate purchase requisitions and preventative maintenance in CMMS and update and filing of QA, HACCP, CFIA procedures and paperwork
- Manage paperwork for audits, fire permits, etc., and close work orders
- Provide for a safe working environment by assuring compliance with all applicable codes and laws.
- Provide interface between maintenance workers, operation personnel and outside resources.
- Provide training on systems.
- Assist in development on PMs, predictive maintenance, and O.E.E. (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Create Work Plan documents for PM and job completion instructions
What youll need to be successful.
- Education : The successful candidate will have a hold a Red Seal Millwright Certification or education and experience in a related field
- 3 to 5 years related maintenance experience in a food processing plant
- Can communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written work
- Demonstrated proficiency in leading, team building
- Strong technical expertise and experience in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
- Knowledge of SAP will be an asset
- Knowledge of CMMS systems will be an asset
- Strong analytical skills (e.g., root cause analysis and statistical analysis)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented, team player with critical thinking abilities, communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities

Compensation Package : $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
