CAE is a global leader in training for civil aviation and defence and security. CAE is the prime contractor for NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) and the Future Air Crew Training (FACT) program in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, delivering world-class, integrated academic, simulator, and live flying training for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and international defence customers.
The Aircraft Technician is responsible for conducting all servicing and maintenance tasks in support of the NFTC training fleet.
Key responsibilities include:
Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing aircraft systems
Removing and replacing line replaceable units (LRUs) and components
Performing specialty maintenance tasks in maintenance shops, as required
Interpreting and applying technical publications and diagrams
Maintaining tools and equipment required to perform assigned duties
Ordering aircraft spare parts and materials
Conducting flight line servicing operations
Debriefing the Team Lead, as required
Carrying out workplace inspections and clean-up activities
Filling the position of Desk Controller, as required
Work schedule:
Monday to Friday
Day shift: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
Evening shift: 3:00 PM 11:00 PM
Minimum 40 hours per week
Some travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications
Transport Canadaapproved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Diploma or equivalent (including Canadian Forces Avionics Technician)
Possession of a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) E License
Minimum of 4 years of aircraft-related experience
At least 3 years of 1st- and 2nd-line maintenance experience
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong oral and written communication skills
Valid drivers license
Knowledge of aerospace design and maintenance practices
Ability to work shifts
Eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit)
Ability to obtain a Reliability security clearance from the Government of Canada
Ability to successfully pass a security evaluation under the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada
Ability to meet CAE requirements for U.S. ITAR re-transfer authorization
