What you’ll be doing
Customer Service & ComplianceProvide exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.
Follow AFC Licensing Rules and organizational policies.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Travel to multiple locations across Michigan to complete firstresponse maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, décor, and general repairs.
Perform installations including light fixtures, outlets, shelving, and garage door openers.
Complete repairs such as flooring, toilets, sinks, faucets, blinds, cabinets, decks, and bookcases.
Handle décor updates including painting, wall hangings, and window treatments.
Perform general maintenance including caulking, weatherstripping, power washing, and heavy cleaning.
Support moving and storage of furniture and equipment between sites.
Assist with program openings/closings and facility audit readiness.
Perform groundskeeping including shrub trimming, snow removal, and snowplowing.
Report safety concerns immediately to management.
Conduct fire safety checks including extinguishers, smoke detectors, egress routes, and fire doors.
Maintain repair documentation and internal reports.
Perform inspections of buildings, equipment, and vehicles.
Use tools and materials safely and as intended.
Provide accurate cost estimates for assigned work.
Serve as point person for outside maintenance and construction vendors.
Act as project manager for designated jobs.
Order and pick up supplies as needed.
Maintain accurate receipts and reconcile credit card use monthly.
Track daily activities through the electronic work order system.
Complete required trainings with 95% ontime renewal.
Provide oversight to consumer employees when needed.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Completion of required trainings and certifications
- Strong teamwork, organization, and time management
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced problemsolving skills
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and meters
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work in challenging conditions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Work Experience Requirements
5+ years of maintenance experience
Major carpentry experience
Electrical and plumbing experience
Knowledge of tools and equipment
Vendor relations experience
Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred
Project management skills
