Assembler Job Description The Assembler operates a variety of fabricating and production equipment to cut, shape, bend, and assemble metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. This role focuses on completing assemblies and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and fastening machines in a modern manufacturing environment. The position is ideal for someone reliable, coachable, and eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced production setting. Responsibilities Operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches to cut, shape, and bend metal components. Perform assembly and subassembly processes using hand tools, presses, power tools, and fastening machines according to work instructions and quality standards. Measure workpiece dimensions to verify accuracy of machine operation and ensure parts meet specifications. Perform changeovers on equipment when necessary to support different production runs. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition throughout the shift. Report defective materials, equipment issues, or questionable conditions promptly to the department leadership. Follow all safety procedures and production guidelines while working near moving mechanical parts. Stand, move, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift while handling materials up to approximately 30 pounds. Carry out related duties and additional tasks as assigned by supervision to support overall production goals. Essential Skills Ability to operate or learn to operate basic fabricating equipment such as saws, shears, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches. Experience or strong aptitude for assembly work using hand tools, power tools, and fastening equipment. Capability to accurately measure workpieces and use basic measuring tools to confirm part dimensions. Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to consistently work scheduled day or swing shifts Monday through Friday. Positive attitude with a willingness to be coached and follow instructions. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and leadership. Initiative to identify tasks, stay productive, and support the production flow without constant direction. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and equipment changeovers. Comfort standing and moving for an entire shift and safely lifting up to approximately 30 pounds. Must be 18 years of age or older. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred but not required. Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a shop, warehouse, or similar environment. Familiarity with reading simple blueprints or work instructions is beneficial. Comfort working around moving mechanical parts and following safety procedures. Ability to maintain an organized work area and follow housekeeping standards. Work Environment This role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and warehouse that is temperature controlled for comfort throughout the year. Assemblers work around moving mechanical parts and production equipment such as saws, presses, brakes, forming machines, and other fabricating machinery, with a noise level that is usually normal for a manufacturing environment. The position requires standing and moving for the full shift and handling materials up to approximately 30 pounds. The schedule offers two day-shift openings from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and three swing-shift openings from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a shift differential for swing shift. The work setting is production-focused, clean, and organized, with an expectation of appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing floor and adherence to all safety and housekeeping standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $19.70/hr.
