- Ford Motor Company is seeking a visionary and results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead our newly restructured maintenance organization. This is a pivotal leadership role designed to transform our maintenance operations by driving the Ford Maintenance Operating System (MOS) and Lean Maturity in Maintenance to world-class levels.
- As the Maintenance Manager, you will lead our maintenance organization and will be the primary architect of maintenance excellence, ensuring our equipment reliability supports the high-speed demands of our manufacturing environment.
What you'll do...
- Organizational Leadership: Lead and develop a multi-layered maintenance team, including Senior Production Supervisors and Skilled Trade teams, fostering a culture of technical ownership and continuous improvement.
- LMM Maturity Drive: Execute the strategy to move the plant toward Level 3 "Cultural" maturity across all LMM criteria: Operational Excellence, PM/PD Tasks, Loss Mitigation, Proactive Maintenance, and Reliability Leadership.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and Business Control Center (BCC). Ensure 100% accuracy of the asset registry and drive constraint management processes to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Maintenance Strategy: Drive the transition from reactive to proactive maintenance. Achieve a World Class PM/CM ratio (target 6:1) and ensure 100% completion of PMs for constraint assets.
- Loss Mitigation (MTTR): Implement and sustain BBQ (Back-up, By-pass, Quick Recovery) processes. Manage critical spare parts inventory and ensure "single-path" assets have verified backup strategies.
- Proactive Maintenance & Tools: Champion the use of predictive tools (Ultrasound, Infrared, Vibration Analysis) and ensure they account for at least 35% of all proactive maintenance performed.
- FRACAS Management: Lead the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) to ensure more than 95% of failed components are processed and analyzed for root cause.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize 4D investigations, DMAIC, and Kaizen to reduce emergency work orders and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Budget & Safety: Manage multi-million dollar maintenance budgets and drive SQCDMME (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, Maintenance, Environment) targets.
You'll have...
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, College Diploma or Trade Certificate in a relevant field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance leadership within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading large, unionized skilled trades workforces.
- In-depth knowledge of the Ford Production System (FPS) or equivalent Lean Manufacturing systems.
- Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of Maintenance Operating Systems (MOS).
- Demonstrated ability to lead, empower, and develop multi-level leadership teams.
- Expertise in constraint management and bottleneck analysis.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into shop-floor actions.

- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
- Technical / Operational Skills:
- Deep understanding of the MOS Lean Maturity Model (LMM) and a track record of improving maturity levels.
- Advanced knowledge of FTPM (Ford Total Productive Maintenance) and EJP (Enterprise Job Plans).
- Experience with Crib Modernization and digital maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo).
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) to monitor MTTR, MTBF, and OEE.
- Continuous Improvement / Lean:
- Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Experience implementing IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things) for predictive maintenance.
- Leadership & Strategic Capability:
- Demonstrated ability to manage change within a new organizational structure.
- Strategic business acumen with the ability to connect maintenance reliability to total cost per unit and plant competitiveness.
