Work Environment
The maintenance superintendent works regular hours with some overtime work. Night and weekend work will sometimes be required. 95% of this job is outdoors, and 5% is indoors and requires work done in all types of weather. The stress level is moderate.

Purpose of Position
Responsible for upkeep of Oxford Park Commission facilities.

The immediate supervisor for this position is the Facilities Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Be familiar with all aspects of maintenance, such as fields, ground, parks, buildings, tennis courts, swimming pools, minor electrical, plumbing, welding, painting, and carpentry, etc.
Responsible for all tools and equipment used by the maintenance staff.
Purchase supplies for use in maintaining tennis courts, pools, and buildings with approval of the Facilities Director
Assists all OPC staff when equipment is needed for special events and tournaments of the park commission and other community activities
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Helps plan and organizes aspects of the maintenance department for the park commission.
Maintains good public relations with the community and other organizations throughout Oxford and Lafayette County.
Works closely with all city departments on related jobs.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of all aspects of maintenance for parks, pools, buildings, etc.
- Knowledge to use various types of maintenance equipment, such as tractors, mowers, field machines, welder, power saws, power equipment, painting equipment, etc.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry work
- Excellent oral and communications skills
