Mechanical Assembler (Weekend Shift Only)

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

How you will be rewarded as a Mechanical Assembler

  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend shift working four 12-hour days with a half-hour unpaid lunch and paid breaks.
  • Along with the base wage pay, there will be an additional hourly shift difference pay for working the weekend shift.
  • Generous paid time off and Holiday Pay. Scheduled off work on Monday-Thursday each week.

Primary Responsibilities of a Mechanical Assembler

This is for our (Weekend Shift Only) - 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Note: Employees hired for the weekend shift will start working Monday-Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM for two to four weeks for the initial training before being transferred to the weekend shift.

  • Places parts in specific relationship to each other with extreme accuracy
  • Operates and tends automatic and manual processing equipment
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, jigs and fixtures
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require
  • Performs general daily housekeeping and cleaning of equipment and area to ensure a safe working condition for all employees
  • Performs general maintenance of equipment as required
  • Ability to recognize and report all operational variances as trained

Experience Required to be a Mechanical Assembler

  • High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and packaging preferred
  • Ability to obtain/maintain BATF approval to work with our products

Required Skills as a Mechanical Assembler

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to be at work on time and on a consistent basis
  • Excellent team interaction and communication is a priority for this role
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including the movement of materials weighing 5-50 lbs
  • Ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations
