Die Repairman - 3rd Shift Job Description The role of the tool & die repairman involves maintaining and repairing dies on both the 1st and 2nd shifts. This position requires an individual with over 7 years of experience who can seamlessly integrate into the team and perform repairs both in the press and tool room. Responsibilities Maintain and repair dies in stamping presses, including 600 - 1,000 progressive, tandem, and transfer presses across 42 different machines. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with the fingers of the press. Perform lockout/tagout procedures and enter presses to troubleshoot broken punches. Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Utilize press gauges for tool & die setup. Assist in training and mentoring Die Setters to familiarize them with processes. Read and interpret drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes, or models. Repair jigs, dies, and fixtures, and set up machine tools to troubleshoot problems. Essential Skills Progressive and transfer die troubleshooting experience. Over 7 years of tool & die maintenance experience. Tool Room machinist skills, including manual machining and surface grinding. Experience with cranes, forklifts, and in-press repair. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose tool issues in both the press and tool room. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Prioritization and addressing of tool and die maintenance needs. Welding and fabrication skills. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a stamping and robotic weld facility that houses 42 presses and robots. The facility is older and requires steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and sleeves. This is a 3rd shift position from 10:30 pm to 6 am starting Sunday night, with potential for weekend shifts. Training occurs on the 1st shift from 6:30 am to 2 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Center Line, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.45 - $35.45/hr.
