Christensen Lumber is looking for individuals to join their team on 2nd shift to start out as general laborers. In this position candidates will be responsible for entry level positions such as pulling product from the yard to be moved through the production process. Candidate could be bringing lumber in from the outside to the inside replenishing the lines. They could be standing at the end of a saw and taking the finished cuts and stacking them to get them ready to take to the line. These candidates will be building forms. They could also be indoors on the wall panel or truss production line, helping move product through the process to be cut and assembled. Candidates will be lifting up to 75lbs but 30-40lbs consistently. Assemble custom wall trusses or roof or floor trusses Read blueprints Climb on and off tables Use hand tools and tape measures to assemble the trusses and walls Work together with other team members Will do the same truss or wall 10+ times before switching to a different one - repetitive Bend, stoop, squat, reach at odd angles Candidates must be comfortable doing the same task everyday. If they are hired, they will be placed at a spot and will be at the spot for the foreseeable future because that is the spot that needed the most help. They will cross-train but must show that they will show up to work everyday and be a good worker before they will start cross training them. Previous construction experience Strong tape measure skills (down to the 32nd) Previous hand and power tools experience First Day Responsibilities Candidates must be able to read a tape measure and lift up to 75lbs.
