Construction Diesel Mechanic $22 - $30/hr

Youngblood Excavating & Contracting is looking for a hardworking, dedicate diesel technician to work in our shop. We offer full benefits after the first 60 days. Must be able to perform standard work assignments with minimal supervision in a timely and efficient manner. Pay based on experience

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform repairs on semi-trucks, dump trucks, trailers and heavy equipment

Complete work order tickets provided by supervisor in a timely manner

Conduct regular preventative maintenance and service for above mentioned trucks and equipment, including but not limited to inspection, tire rotation and oil change

Maintain parts inventory

Operate and move equipment being repaired in and out of shop service bays

Diagnose problems and report needed repairs to supervisor

Use proper test equipment to troubleshoot for needed repairs

Maintain accurate records of each repair performed by completing assigned work orders and returning to supervisor

Ensure safe use of power and hand tools

Make sure that all the work deadlines are met

Evaluate completed work prior to release

Ensures safe use of power and hand-held tools

Communicates professionally and project a positive attitude with customers, team members, and supervisors

Keep work area clean and orderly.
Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance.
  • Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention required.
  • Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to operate trucks and other equipment used as needed.
  • Ability to use a computer and related devices, such as a keyboard or mouse or other related equipment, throughout the workday while seated at a desk or workstation.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach above shoulders and lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
