Responsibilities
What You'll Do as a Mobile Fleet Technician
You'll work in the field supporting fleet operations by helping maintain safe, compliant, and reliable equipment across the enterprise. This role is focused on reducing downtime, supporting crews in the field, and ensuring company equipment stays operational and repair-ready.
- Perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance on off-road equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using approved diagnostic tools
- Complete minor to moderate repairs on company fleet assets
- Identify and report safety or compliance concerns related to equipment
- Document all field service work through internal work order systems
- Coordinate with Fleet Coordinators on repair scheduling and shop assignments
- Support fleet-related projects, equipment upgrades, and operational initiatives
- Assist operations teams with out-of-service units to reduce downtime
- Monitor and troubleshoot telematics and dashcam hardware
- Train crew-level leadership on operator-level maintenance practices
- Support cost savings initiatives and warranty recovery opportunities
- Travel frequently to field locations and work independently with minimal supervision
- Follow all company safety standards, OEM guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- What You Bring
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mobile mechanic, equipment technician, or similar maintenance role
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently in field environments with limited supervision
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Experience using computers, handheld devices, and Microsoft Office tools
- Basic mechanical tools and troubleshooting knowledge
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Professionalism and ability to build trust with field teams, leadership, and vendors
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and travel demands
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting construction or utility service vehicles
- OEM diagnostic software experience
- CDL license
- Bilingual Spanish speaking and writing skills
Physical Demands
Ability to:
- Lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods
- Walk on uneven terrain and around active job sites
- Reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb into fleet vehicles or equipment
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
- Work in varying weather conditions and temperatures
- Safely operate tools, handheld devices, and diagnostic equipment
Work Environment
- Majority of work is performed outdoors and in the field
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels
- Frequent exposure to changing weather and environmental conditions

Lo Que Haras Como Tecnico Movil de Flota
Trabajaras en campo apoyando las operaciones de flota para ayudar a mantener equipos seguros, confiables y en cumplimiento con las regulaciones de la empresa. Este puesto se enfoca en reducir tiempos de inactividad, apoyar a los equipos operativos y asegurar que los equipos de la empresa se mantengan funcionando correctamente.
- Realizar mantenimiento preventivo programado en equipos todoterreno
- Diagnosticar problemas mecanicos, hidraulicos y electricos utilizando herramientas de diagnostico aprobadas
- Completar reparaciones menores y moderadas en los equipos de la empresa
- Identificar y reportar posibles problemas de seguridad o cumplimiento
- Documentar todo el trabajo de campo mediante ordenes de trabajo internas
- Coordinar con el Coordinador de Flota la programacion de reparaciones y asignacion de talleres
- Apoyar proyectos de flota, actualizaciones de equipos e iniciativas operativas
- Ayudar a las operaciones con unidades fuera de servicio para reducir tiempos de inactividad
- Supervisar y solucionar problemas de dispositivos telematicos y camaras de tablero
- Capacitar al liderazgo de cuadrillas sobre mantenimiento basico de equipos
- Apoyar iniciativas de ahorro de costos y oportunidades de garantia
- Viajar frecuentemente a diferentes ubicaciones de trabajo y operar de manera independiente en campo
- Seguir todas las politicas de seguridad de la empresa, estandares OEM y regulaciones aplicables
Calificaciones
Lo Que Aportas
- Diploma de preparatoria/GED o experiencia equivalente
- Minimo de 3 anos de experiencia como mecanico movil, tecnico de equipos o funcion similar de mantenimiento
- Conocimiento solido de sistemas mecanicos, hidraulicos y electricos
- Capacidad para trabajar de forma independiente en condiciones de campo con supervision limitada
- Licencia de conducir valida y capacidad para cumplir con los requisitos internos de manejo
- Capacidad para comunicarse efectivamente en ingles, tanto verbalmente como por escrito
- Experiencia utilizando computadoras, dispositivos moviles y herramientas de Microsoft Office
- Conocimiento basico de herramientas mecanicas y diagnostico
- Atencion al detalle, organizacion y habilidades para resolver problemas
- Profesionalismo y capacidad para generar confianza con equipos de campo, liderazgo y proveedores
- Flexibilidad para adaptarse a prioridades cambiantes y necesidades de viaje
Calificaciones Preferidas
