Why This Role Matters

As an established mid-sized organization, this role offers broad responsibility and meaningful visibility across the business. The right person will be both strategic and hands-on and able to lead the maintenance team, support day-to-day operations, manage facility needs, strengthen equipment reliability, and partner across the business. The benefit of that broad scope is visibility and impact: this role is exposed to all facets of the organization, from production and safety to quality, engineering, purchasing, finance, and leadership.

This is a key leadership position for someone who wants to make a visible difference in a 24/7 manufacturing environment with multiple facilities and a strong focus on safety, uptime, and operational discipline.

What You'll Own

  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team across a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Own maintenance and facilities support for multiple buildings, production areas, utilities, and equipment.
  • Balance urgent repair needs with long-term reliability improvements.
  • Strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance practices to reduce downtime and recurring equipment issues.
  • Improve CMMS discipline, including work orders, PMs, equipment history, backlog, parts usage, LOTO and follow-up actions.
  • Partner closely with Operations to prioritize work, schedule downtime, and support production needs.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for repeat equipment failures.
  • Manage facility systems, contractors, vendors, service providers, and maintenance-related projects.
  • Own equipment safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, machine safety, inspections, corrective actions, and safe maintenance practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with Safety, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and leadership to improve plant performance.
  • Manage maintenance/facilities spending, spare parts needs, contractor costs, and repair-versus-replace recommendations.
  • Support capital planning, equipment upgrades, installations, and long-term asset reliability.

Required Experience

  • Progressive experience in industrial maintenance, reliability, facilities, or manufacturing operations.
  • Prior leadership experience supervising or managing maintenance employees.
  • Strong working knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, work order systems, and equipment repair.
  • Experience using a CMMS or maintenance management system (UpKeep Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, contractor safety, and safe maintenance practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading reliability improvements, root cause analysis, PM optimization, or downtime reduction initiatives.
  • Technical degree, trade background, engineering technology degree, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • OSHA 30, CMRP, RCA, electrical/mechanical, facilities, or predictive maintenance certifications are a plus.

The Right Fit

The right candidate is a hands-on, accountable leader who enjoys variety and takes ownership. In our mid-sized company, this role is broad. One day may involve equipment reliability, the next may involve facility needs, contractor coordination, safety follow-up, budgeting, or production support.

We are looking for someone who can respond when something breaks, but also build the structure needed to prevent the same issues from happening againnot just with equipment, but with people too.

This is a strong opportunity for a maintenance and reliability leader who wants visibility, cross-functional involvement, and the ability to directly impact the success of the business.

If you are a hands-on leader who wants to make an impact in a growing manufacturing organization, we encourage you to apply.
