Position Description:

Join a leading facilities services provider as an Electrician in Suffolk, VA, and play a critical role in maintaining and repairing complex electrical systems within a professional facility environment. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers hands-on work supporting high-quality electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and system monitoring. You will collaborate closely with site supervisors, supervise subcontractors when necessary, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Your expertise will help maintain critical electrical infrastructure, including lighting, circuits, emergency generators, and building automation systems.

Key responsibilities include responding to electrical issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, working with electrical testing equipment, reading schematics, and supporting general maintenance tasks. The role requires effective communication, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Top Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience in facilities or related industries
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 600V, including lighting, circuits, and building automation
  • Valid US driver's license and ability to obtain security clearance (active preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Apprentice Electrical license preferred
  • NFPA 70E safety certification and knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Experience with three-phase electrical systems, test equipment, relays, circuit breakers, infrared scanning, and PLCs
