Journeyman Electrician (Travel) Per diem Included Job Description This role focuses on installing, wiring, and commissioning solar energy systems in compliance with NEC and local electrical codes. You will install and secure solar panels, mount racking systems and inverters, perform basic electrical tasks, and support safe, efficient completion of solar projects across Oklahoma. You will work closely with installation crews, project leaders, and inspectors to ensure high-quality, code-compliant solar installations. Responsibilities Install and securely fasten solar panels on rooftops, ground mounts, and other structures using hand and power tools. Mount racking systems, inverters, and related hardware according to design specifications and project plans. Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical code requirements, even when electrical work is minimal. Perform basic electrical tasks such as connecting equipment, verifying grounding, and inspecting conduit runs. Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to guide installation and wiring activities. Conduct site assessments to confirm accurate measurements, layout, and placement of solar equipment. Install and bend conduit as required for solar installations and associated electrical systems. Troubleshoot electrical issues related to solar installations and resolve problems safely and efficiently. Follow all OSHA safety standards and maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site. Collaborate with installation crews, project managers, and inspectors to ensure timely and successful project completion. Document work performed, including installations and electrical connections, and assist with quality checks or inspections. Support both installation and electrical activities on solar farm projects in various locations across the state. Essential Skills Valid, unexpired Oklahoma State Unlimited Journeyman Electrician License (residential-only licenses are not accepted). Demonstrated experience with electrical installation and wiring in construction or industrial environments. Proficiency in installing and bending conduit for electrical systems. Ability to work with hand and power tools to install solar panels, racking systems, and related hardware. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical codes. Ability to perform basic electrical tasks such as equipment connections, grounding verification, and conduit inspection. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical drawings. Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving electrical issues. Commitment to following OSHA safety standards and maintaining a safe job site. Ability to collaborate effectively with installation crews, project leaders, and inspectors. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience installing solar panels and related solar equipment in field or utility-scale environments. Experience in industrial or construction electrical work, particularly on large-scale projects. Familiarity with solar farm installations, including ground-mounted systems. Ability to perform accurate measurements and layout for equipment placement. Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The environment requires consistent adherence to OSHA safety standards and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Expect to work in varying weather conditions, on active construction sites, and to follow site-specific safety and operational procedures. Dress typically includes work-appropriate attire suitable for outdoor construction environments, along with required PPE. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr.
