Electrical Assembly Technician Job Description The Electrical Assembly Technician assembles, routes, and wires low-voltage electrical panels and wire harnesses with a high level of precision and organization. This role involves reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics, performing detailed wiring and terminations, and ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards in a clean, climate-controlled panel shop environment. Responsibilities Route and wire low-voltage electrical panels and wire harnesses according to schematics and blueprints. Read and decipher electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics to determine wiring layouts and component placement. Perform low-voltage electrical terminations using spade, ring lug, ferrule, compression, and flex lugs. Strip, crimp, and prepare wires using appropriate hand tools and apply heat shrink tubing where required. Build, assemble, and wire control panels, ensuring neat, organized, and clearly labeled wiring throughout the panel. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during panel building and mechanical assembly tasks. Perform hand soldering on electrical components and connections as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area, following shop standards and best practices. Collaborate with team members and participate in cross-training to support various tasks within the panel shop. Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications before completion or handoff. Essential Skills Several years of experience routing and wiring low-voltage electrical panels and wire harnesses (ideally a minimum of 2 years, with flexibility for the right candidate). Ability to read and decipher electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics. Hands-on experience with low-voltage electrical connections and terminals, including spade, ring lug, ferrule, compression, and flex lugs. Proficiency in stripping, crimping, and preparing wires using wire strippers, wire crimpers, and related hand tools. Experience applying heat shrink tubing and performing heat shrinking on wires and connections. Background in control panel building, panel wiring, and electrical assembly. Panel shop experience working in a structured production or assembly environment. Skill in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to maintain a high level of detail, organization, and neatness in wiring and routing within electrical panels. Professional and organized approach to work, including maintaining an orderly work area. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or panel shop environment. Hand soldering skills for electrical components and connections. Comfort working as part of a team in a growing operation. Willingness to cross-train and learn additional tasks within the panel shop. Why Work Here? The position operates on a first shift only, with flexible start and end times; typical schedules fall between 7:00-8:00 a.m. start and 4:30-5:00 p.m. finish, allowing some adaptability to personal needs. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, and electrical assembly equipment while working at benches and panel stations in a professional, organized shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of The Colony, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
