***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***
This position is loced in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Ste, Logistics Directore (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Full Assistant to a supervisor who has responsibility for providing overall direction and coordinion of subordine work activities and functions. Participes with higher-level management officials in planning and establishing long-range work requirements and schedules. Serves as the highest-level subject mter expert for work accomplished in the organizion. Work activities and functions are typically controlled through two or more levels of supervision. The occupion and non-supervisory grade level which best reflects the nure of the overall work operions supervised is Surface Maintenance Mechanic, WG-5801-11.
Planning: Provides direct input or participes in meetings and/or conferences with engineering, production control, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements. Reviews immedie and long-range requirements of organizional segments and groups supervised based on workload forecasts, and develops, for approval by their superiors, plans for meeting long-range resource requirements.
Work Direction: Assigns and explains work requirements and opering instructions to subordine supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operions to be followed. Maintains balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources to achieve the most effective work operions.
Administrion: Develops and establishes internal procedures (e.g., meetings, content, and timing of reports) to be followed by subordine supervisors to assure effective control and direction of work activities, organizions, and personnel supervised. Identifies long-range training needs for all levels of subordine supervisors and workers and submits justificion and funding requests to superiors and arranges for the accomplish of the training.
Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing opering procedures for the activity supervised. Implements and complies with agency, ste, and Federal regulory Occupional Safety and Health, and environmental requirements. Ensures use of quality conformant products through compliance with established merials shelf life programs.
Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions, inspections, mobilizion and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operion, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies.

MILITARY GRADE: CW4-O4
Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective de of placement into the technician position to ensure to avoid grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
Experience or training leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operion, and working relionships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify interconnected complex systems on a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Extensive knowledge of ste of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumic, and other major non-mechanical systems th have a functional relionship and effect on the operion of major mechanical systems. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumic, electrical, and electronic controls. Skill and knowledge to develop or improvise methods, alter parts, and make repairs in the absence of technical guidelines (such as modifying parts to fit and mesh into systems for which the parts were not designed); improvise modificions to equipment to correct recurring malfunctions; and design modificions to meet special test requirements or other special needs.
WS (All Grade Levels) - In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstres the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience th provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstres the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communice knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situions.

***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***
This position is loced in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Ste, Logistics Directore (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Full Assistant to a supervisor who has responsibility for providing overall direction and coordinion of subordine work activities and functions. Participes with higher-level management officials in planning and establishing long-range work requirements and schedules. Serves as the highest-level subject mter expert for work accomplished in the organizion. Work activities and functions are typically controlled through two or more levels of supervision. The occupion and non-supervisory grade level which best reflects the nure of the overall work operions supervised is Surface Maintenance Mechanic, WG-5801-11.
Planning: Provides direct input or participes in meetings and/or conferences with engineering, production control, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements. Reviews immedie and long-range requirements of organizional segments and groups supervised based on workload forecasts, and develops, for approval by their superiors, plans for meeting long-range resource requirements.
Work Direction: Assigns and explains work requirements and opering instructions to subordine supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operions to be followed. Maintains balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources to achieve the most effective work operions.
Administrion: Develops and establishes internal procedures (e.g., meetings, content, and timing of reports) to be followed by subordine supervisors to assure effective control and direction of work activities, organizions, and personnel supervised. Identifies long-range training needs for all levels of subordine supervisors and workers and submits justificion and funding requests to superiors and arranges for the accomplish of the training.
Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing opering procedures for the activity supervised. Implements and complies with agency, ste, and Federal regulory Occupional Safety and Health, and environmental requirements. Ensures use of quality conformant products through compliance with established merials shelf life programs.
Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions, inspections, mobilizion and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operion, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies.

MILITARY GRADE: CW4-O4
Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective de of placement into the technician position to ensure to avoid grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO). Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (Grade Inversion). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
Experience or training leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operion, and working relionships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify interconnected complex systems on a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Extensive knowledge of ste of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumic, and other major non-mechanical systems th have a functional relionship and effect on the operion of major mechanical systems. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumic, electrical, and electronic controls. Skill and knowledge to develop or improvise methods, alter parts, and make repairs in the absence of technical guidelines (such as modifying parts to fit and mesh into systems for which the parts were not designed); improvise modificions to equipment to correct recurring malfunctions; and design modificions to meet special test requirements or other special needs.
WS (All Grade Levels) - In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstres the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience th provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstres the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communice knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
