Location: Kearny, NJ Shift: 7am-3:30pm & 3pm-11:30pm (Monday-Friday) Pay: $25+/hour ; Overtime: $37.50+/hour Job Description This role focuses on assembling low-voltage wiring systems and building electrical switchboards in accordance with UL assembly standards and applicable electrical codes. You will work from blueprints and electrical schematics to complete control panels, switchgear, and related electrical assemblies with accuracy and consistency. Responsibilities Assemble low-voltage wiring assemblies according to electrical schematics and blueprints. Build and wire electrical switchboards, control panels, and switchgear following detailed drawings and specifications. Interpret and apply electrical blueprints, diagrams, and wiring schematics to ensure correct layout and connections. Follow UL assembly standards to ensure all assemblies meet quality, safety, and compliance requirements. Apply relevant electrical code requirements during assembly to ensure safe and compliant installations. Inspect and verify wiring connections, continuity, and component placement to maintain high-quality workmanship. Organize and route wires and cables neatly within panels and switchboards to support safe and efficient operation. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve wiring or assembly issues that arise during production. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety procedures and guidelines. Support production needs by working assigned shifts and overtime as required to meet project and customer deadlines. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in low-voltage wiring assemblies, control panel building, or related electrical wiring work. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Hands-on experience with control panel wiring, panel assembly, and switchgear wiring. Working knowledge of UL assembly standards and their application in electrical panel and switchboard construction. Understanding of applicable electrical code requirements and how they apply to panel and switchboard assemblies. Ability to perform precise, neat, and organized panel wiring and cable routing. Strong attention to detail and quality when assembling and wiring electrical components. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work from technical documentation. Commitment to working safely and following all safety policies and procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with low-voltage control circuits and industrial control panels. Background in panel building or switchgear assembly in a production or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with using standard electrical hand tools, crimping tools, and test equipment. Ability to troubleshoot basic wiring issues using schematics and drawings. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks within a shift.
