Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift Location: Totowa, NJ Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) Pay Rate: $35.00 - $45.00 / hour (Depending on Experience) About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Maintenance Mechanic to join our 1st-shift production team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure optimal production flow. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with electro-mechanical skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (such as plastics, flexible packaging, or food/beverage production). What We Are Looking For: - Electrical & Automation Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose electrical and control failures, read electrical schematics, and work with HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) and PLCs. - Specialized Machinery Experience: While experience with film forming, film extrusion, blown film, or cast film machinery is highly preferred, we are also eager to speak with technicians who have backgrounds maintaining high-speed packaging lines in food, beverage, or plastics manufacturing. - Dual Mechanical/Electrical Expertise: 3+ years of experience performing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Always focus on Good Manufacturing and Food Safety practices.
- Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, parts replacement, or fabrication.
- Provide mechanical and technical expertise to maintain high-speed machinery.
- Ensure plant equipment functions at optimum levels via short-term repairs and long-term improvements.
- Report operational problems and generate necessary modifications.
- Document all maintenance actions in logs and checklists.
- Maintain workshop tools used for on-site repairs.
- Analyze failures and contribute to preventative maintenance schedules.
- Setup and adjust machines for changeovers to meet standard run times.
- Teach basic mechanical skills to operators for autonomous maintenance.
- Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for part replacement.
- Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, and control failures with minimal supervision to reduce downtime.
- Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment following all safety and ergonomic policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
The essential functions of this role include:
manual lifting up to 50lbs standing for 8 hours at one time working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
