Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports the efficient operation of a commercial laundry facility by performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and reliably. This role plays a key part in keeping production on schedule and maintaining consistent, high-quality service for customers. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial laundry equipment to maximize uptime and equipment life. Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, including AC and DC motor controls, low-voltage and DC voltage circuits, and related components. Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled systems, inverter drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, bearings, chains, belting, and conveying systems. Maintain and repair production equipment such as signals, feeders, ironers, and blanket machines to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Use basic blueprint reading and mechanical troubleshooting techniques to identify and correct equipment malfunctions. Inspect machinery regularly to identify potential problems and complete repairs before they impact production schedules. Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and document all maintenance activities accurately and promptly. Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to minimize downtime and support continuous workflow. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working on electrical and mechanical systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and ensure tools and equipment are in proper working condition. Essential Skills Proven experience in industrial maintenance within a production or manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting ability in electrical control systems, including AC and DC motor controls and low-voltage/DC voltage circuits. Hands-on experience working with PLCs and inverter drives in an industrial setting. Practical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, bearings, chains, and belting. Experience maintaining and repairing conveying systems and valves. Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on complex machinery. Basic blueprint reading skills to support electrical and mechanical diagnostics. Ability to perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and follow established maintenance schedules. Strong attention to detail and a safety-focused mindset when working with electrical and mechanical systems. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with industrial laundry equipment such as feeders, ironers, blanket machines, and related machinery. Familiarity with signals and control interfaces used in industrial production environments. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting. Work Environment This role is based in a commercial laundry facility with industrial equipment operating throughout the production area. The position follows rotating shifts, typically working Monday through Saturday on four 10-hour shifts from approximately 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with Sundays off. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with frequent interaction with machinery such as feeders, ironers, and blanket machines. You should be comfortable working around moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and conveying equipment, and wearing appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment suitable for an industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pensacola, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
