Maintenance Technician

Are you a mechanically inclined self-starter who prefers the autonomy of a smaller facility over the chaos of a massive automotive plant? We are looking for a Maintenance Technician (first shift) to support a production site in Wixom.

In this role, you will be the go-to technical expert on-site, working hand-in-hand with the Site Leader to keep our operations running smoothly. Our facility specializes in processing fiberglass components for the automotive industry, utilizing auger-fed valve bag filler machines. If you enjoy taking ownership of a facility, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting a mix of mechanical and light electrical systems, you’ll fit right in.

Shift: 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Thursday (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

• Keep Production Moving: Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) and mechanical repairs on specialized production equipment, specifically auger-fed valve bag fillers.
  
  
• Facility Ownership: Handle general facility maintenance and light building repairs to ensure a safe, efficient working environment.
  
  
• Troubleshoot & Fix: Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and perform light electrical troubleshooting as needed.
  
  
• Partner with Leadership: Work closely with the Site Leader to prioritize daily maintenance tasks, manage spare parts inventory, and minimize downtime.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• The Right Experience: strong mechanical background with proven troubleshooting skills (experience with packaging, bagging, or auger systems is a huge plus).
  
  
• Electrical Basics: Ability to handle light electrical repairs safely.
  
  
• The "Small Shop" Mindset: You are comfortable being the primary maintenance resource on-site. You enjoy autonomy but are a team player who jumps in where needed.
  
  
• Reliability: Since production starts early, a dependable professional who loves the 4:00 AM shift and values having every Friday off is essential.
