Job Summary
Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, locally operated service organization in Vermont to help them hire an experienced Commercial HVAC-R Service Technician. This role focuses on hands on troubleshooting, repair, and service of commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and HVAC systems. The ideal technician is experienced, self-sufficient, and ready to step into active service work quickly.
This is a service driven position, not a preventive maintenance role, with strong earning potential through overtime, on call rotation, and performance-based bonuses.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and service commercial kitchen, refrigeration, and HVAC systems
Troubleshoot and repair gas fired commercial appliances and combustion systems
Respond to service calls and emergency repairs across assigned local routes
Perform limited preventive maintenance alongside primary service work
Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers to support efficient scheduling
Document service work electronically using a company provided tablet
Maintain assigned service vehicle, tools, and parts inventory
Qualifications and Must Haves
Prior hands-on experience in commercial kitchen appliances, HVAC, refrigeration, or gas and oil service work
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability with minimal ramp up
EPA 608 certification
Vermont Natural Gas or LP license
Valid drivers license with clean driving record
Availability to participate in an on-call rotation
Comfort working independently in the field within weeks, not months
