Role Overview
The Building Automation Service Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting BAS/DDC systems across commercial and industrial facilities. This field-based role supports system performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction through hands-on technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform startup, commissioning, and functional testing of BAS/DDC systems
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC controls and automation systems
- Execute preventative maintenance and implement system upgrades or modifications
- Perform programming adjustments, system configuration, and point-to-point checkout
- Work with BAS protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LON, and IP-based networks
- Respond to service calls, including occasional after-hours support
- Collaborate with customers, contractors, and internal teams to complete projects
- Maintain accurate service documentation and ensure safe work practices

Qualifications
- Experience with HVAC systems, controls, or BAS/DDC environments
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents
- Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn
- Effective communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Experience with BACnet, Modbus, LON, or IP-based networks
- Familiarity with Niagara N4, Schneider Electric, or similar platforms
- Trade school, vocational training, or equivalent experience
