We are seeking an experienced Facilities Technician for a Temp to Hire opportunity in Tucson, AZ. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong electrical, plumbing, and general facilities experience who enjoys keeping buildings safe, functional, organized, and ready for daily operations.
The Facilities Technician will support a government and public sector work environment where reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a Facility Manager, coordinate with outside vendors, support office and conference setups, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace. Candidates who take pride in responsive service, teamwork, and solving facility issues quickly will be well suited for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general facilities maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, lighting, painting, lubrication, and repair support.
- Walk the premises to inspect lights, exit signs, common areas, office spaces, doors, gates, windows, and other facility components, creating service tickets when vendor support is needed.
- Set up new desks, office spaces, conference rooms, seating, tables, snacks, and meeting areas, then break down and clean up after events.
- Coordinate with outside vendors for onsite repairs, escort vendors to designated work areas, and communicate repair needs professionally.
- Drive a company vehicle and 26-foot box truck as needed to support facility operations.
- Provide backup custodial support and assist with trash removal, basic cleaning, and general workplace readiness.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Perform electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
- Inspect building areas and create service desk tickets for repairs requiring vendor support.
- Set up and break down office spaces, conference areas, tables, chairs, and meeting materials.
- Coordinate vendor access and support onsite repair activities.
- 6-10 years of relevant facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or general maintenance experience.
- Hands-on experience with electrical, plumbing, lighting, painting, lubrication, and general repair tasks.
- Ability to safely use ladders when needed for lighting and basic facility maintenance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to write professional emails.
- Ability to use a ticket service desk system to document, track, and communicate facility issues.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle and 26-foot box truck as required.
- Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, respond to changing priorities, and maintain a professional presence in a public sector environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior facilities maintenance experience in a government, public sector, corporate, or large office environment.
- Experience coordinating outside vendors, escorting contractors, and documenting repair activity.
- Familiarity with workplace safety practices, building inspections, and preventive maintenance routines.
