Primary Purpose:
Assist in providing supervision and coordination of work necessary to maintain electrical power systems for all district facilities. Provide services as a licensed Journeyman Electrician.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum Experience:
- Eight (5) years of experience
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Must possess a valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
- Ability to accurately diagnose electrical and mechanical failures and perform repairs.
- Ability to install electrical power systems, raceways, wiring, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in supervising the day-to-day work of electrical and food service equipment operations.
- Estimate costs and install additional power supplies and lighting as needed.
- Maintain existing electrical power supply equipment.
- Maintain various types of ventilation equipment.
- Assist with the district's energy management program as it relates to lighting controls.
- Assist other maintenance crafts as needed.
- Maintain records and prepare reports as required.
- Pursue continuing education to stay current with advancements in electrical equipment and electrical codes.
- Maintain all types of electrical equipment and lighting fixtures.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Volt/amp meters, drills, ladders, saws, pipe-bending equipment, trenching and digging equipment, aerial lifts, and bucket trucks.

- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting (over 45 pounds).
- Position responsibilities may require irregular work hours.

- Work both indoors and outdoors.
